Eastern Alliance Destroyer

I think what Hector means is there are lot's of donor kit's eg Linberg etc which have never appeared over here in significant quantities (large bandai tanks......) either new or on the second hand market so we rely on certain well known inter web auction sites...

Hi Steve, you are correct.

As for posting a pic of the Fujimi F-15. This kit has long been known as the donar kit for this ship and Shuttle canaris.
Waste £90+ on Three Revell 1/32nd F-15's if you want. I don't need to justify myself.

Ok, but you also don't need to bite a newbie's head off for simply following up on info you've brought to the table.

Although you're dead-right about the Fujimi kit, so far you've also stated that the 5' version was screen-used when in fact it was never completed, and that a japanese robot kit supplied the head section, when it seems the piece you mean came from the McLaren. If you're going to volunteer answers without back-up in this manner, you can't blame anyone else when they have trouble sorting the wheat from the chaff.

Dlazarus, you're falling into the classic 'newbie' trap of asking too many questions right out of the gate. Are you actually planning to build a replica of the EAD? Cool! There will be plenty of help here if you need it. But it's no-one else's job to spoon-feed you info you can search out for yourself. You yourself posted the Modelmagic link; the pics there clearly show that different F-15 kits were used on the original. Do your homework, and you'll find that a lot of the answers are already freely available! ;)

Point taken; Bad day shouldn't have taken it out on D.

You make your points very well, but there has been so much work done (and still being done) on the Rag-Tag fleet, that sometimes one can get a bit niggled when simple points seem to be being challenged.
Again should have done my homework with the 5' version ha!

Myself; I am building Rag-Tag ships and have been busily collecting kits for various BG ships for years.
Shuttle Canaris (in BR shuttle mode) 1st off. Then Prison ship in Alternative Universe Freighter mode.
Plus of course the EAC in original RT guise.
I have been helped but this has taken years of work (mostly by others) and a lot of Faith.

I only can hope that some comany here in the USA will someday put out a model of it. I am watching Battlestar Galactica on netflix for the last 3 weeks,

Me Too!

Me too, I wish some company in the U.S. would produce a kit of the EAD.
I have ignored this thread due to some resistance because I'm a "nubee" in this forum!
I would love to see somebody breakdown the EAD piece by piece in order to recreate it.
I have got most of it figured out, but would like to have help collecting the necessary kits to recreate theis model.
Thanks for your post.

Parts

Flakpanzer Gepard?

I do not see it.

I do see parts from: Tamiya german flakpanzer IV Mobelwagon 1/35

That was one of my questions.

As I said in post #28,

"I would love to see somebody breakdown the EAD piece by piece in order to recreate it.

Some kind of San Francisco Trolly car is needed, as well as a rare Japanese robot model?

I got one Revell F-15A from 1977 and I'm working on a second one.

Now I have to figure out where and how to cut the engine nacells off the fuselage of the Fevelle F-15A.

Almost forgot the obvious: space 1999 Hawk

Hi there.

I am new to this site, so hello to all .....and of the subject of kit parts...

I am in the process of building this cruiser and wondered if anyone who has listed kit parts for this model, might be able to tell me what kit the side pods on the fuselage are from?
I cannot see mention of these in this thread?.

These are the two missile shaped pods with rivet detail, and what looks to be a missing undercarriage door opening on the pair of parts?.
The pods are located right next to the upper intake scoops.

Help would be very much appreciated......Thanks!

The Cheeks are the engine nacells of a Revell German Heinkel He 219 "Owl" kit. I'll get the specs later.

Got pic's of your build? Doing a build thread?

Thanks for the reply Dlazarus

This is a kit I've not heard of, so help is much appreciated.

Sorry, I do not have a build thread, but I may well be able to post up some pic's as I go. I have just got back into this hobby after many years away.

Whilst I'm on the subject, do you know if the tank parts in the F15 undercarriage wells on top, are from the Tamiya M3 lee?. I do recognise the jeep parts below them, but there seem to be several Tamiya armour kits used in the cruiser.

Thanks again.

Your Welcome.

I'm sorry I'm not much help with this project nor can I be. I started my project almost two years ago, got some help(read thread) and put it aside due to some frustration with finding/identifying parts. My guess is, yes they are from the M3 Lee tank, which kit, I don't know. I contacted Mark Dickson about the model which I think he owns, and got several questions answered. Mark was very sick and going through some intense treatment at the time. I felt bad about bothering him so I broke off contact and shelved the project for now. I hope to pick it up someday when I find a tutorial of a build from someone who is patient and detailed about creating this unusual model. Scale scratch building is an art all to itself.

Good luck with your build and I hope you do some detailed recording of your build. I'll be watching.

Daniel

Here is a list sent to me by Mark Dickson. I may have posted this already so please forgive me if I have.

Here’s the kit list so far:

1/48 Fujimi: F-15C. Two kits needed.

1/48 Revell: F-15A. Two kits needed.

1/144 Airfix: Saturn V. One kit needed.

1/48 Hawk or Testors: San Francisco Street Car. Three kits are needed.

1/76 Fujimi: M4A1 Sherman. One kit needed.

1/72 Revell: Heinkel Owl HE 219. One kit needed.

1/35 Tamiya: M3 Lee. One kit needed.

1/35 Tamiya: 20mm Flakvierling 38 MIT sd.ah.52. One kit needed.

1/12 or 1/20 Tamiya: Marlboro M23. One kit needed.

Airfix or MPC: Space 1999 mk9hawk. One kit needed.

Mark said this is only a partial list and would get back to me on the remainder of the parts list. To date, he has not.

It would be helpful if I knew exactly what parts from what kit went where. The major parts are pretty much self explanatory, it's the knibbly-bits that I need help with like what Pegasus asked.

I hope this helps Pegasus.

Daniel
