A CD Holder? WTF? :wtf:

Available to see at the NEC. Available to buy in 2008 I'll bet... :(

I wonder if that means revealed this coming weekend at the NEC as that is when the Memorabilia show is on. If it is, then I will get to see what it is like as I will be there this weekend with the other Tony, I will post some information if any is available when I get back.

Courtesy of those nice folk over at War Of The Worlds online:

12 inches tall... these guys have been battling to get this out for the past 3 years... If it's the same one from 3 years ago, the diorama shows the Fighting Machine standing over a ruined house, and this house is where you store your CD box.

• Will this be available to buy at the NEC?

No, not yet. We have presented our MFM at this years N.E.C since we are in-between this years tour and next years tour and it is perfect timing for us as we fine tune things, such as packaging and box-art. But unlike Dark-horse's model, our is here to stay and wreak havoc!

• Do you have a guideline price?

No not yet, but since Sculptoria set out to make a collectable MFM JWTWOTW's fans could be proud and of a superior quality threshold, it will be more than any other version so far available for obvious reasons..but we aim, having said this, to make it affordable to the discerning collector.

• Will the model stand on its own as a collectible without the CD rack (kinda spoils it if you ask me!).

Good gracious, No. A fan's Jeff Wayne album can be stored in a very Victorian presentation stand - no tacky CD rack anywhere near our model. Sculptoria Studio wanted to make a collectable model that fans would truly adore and cherish - but there are plans to launch more superior collectables from this brand and we are working closely with Jeff Wayne on these concepts.

Also, Sculptoria Studio is working on a truly stunning, interactive MFM JWTWOTW's Album Holder supporting website for official release - Fans of JWTWOTW's will be blown away by its quality.

=====================

Regardless, I don't want a CD rack... :(

Oh well, we'll see. :)

Why on Earth can't they just do a collectable piece that is just a collectable piece without the CD/Album storage side of things. :?

I am sure more people would want to buy a MFM model as a model rather than a model/storage container. And also by the sound of things they will not be cheap either. :(

Or to put it another way, this is our sales patter we think you're going to swallow as to why it's so expensive.

".. of a superior quality threshold".

".... affordable to the discerning collector" = expensive.

Well if it ends up being a collectable that has storage space for CD/Albums, then like Eagle I will not be having one either. I would like a MFM model/collectable, however I definately do not need CD storage space, that sid eis well covered.

'affordable to the discerning collector' yeah DX read that as, we want to get as much cash out of you as possible.

Seen it today, and to be perfectly honest I am not that impressed by it, do not get me wrong it is OK but not as special as they may be making out, and if it has a price of much over £40.00 to £45.00 they will be taking the urine a little bit.

The War of the Worlds stand also had on display the new Comet MFM and MCM, both were fully built and finished, however the MFM did not have the Thunderchild between its legs for some reason, (and this was advertised as being there as well), however the both the MFM and MCM models looked very good, and I much prefered preferd the Comet MFM to the collectable one, but there's the rub, you need to work on that one to get it something like.

I did actually take my camera to the show, however after my first wander around the hall before the punters were let in, I just dumped it t behind the stall and left it there all day, to be honest I could just not be bothered to take any pictures as I was just so uninpressesd with what I saw.

Not thinking there Commander, I really ought to have taken a quick snap for you.
