Mac's Car

Wheels up..!

Happy New Year Pete..!

Can't wait to see your progress. Finally worked out the front wheel retraction geometry eh? That's a big step forward, nice work. I admire your willpower to complete this project. It's one thing to make a studio scale replica it's a whole different project to have it perform as a studio functioning model.

I can't wait to see the new pictures.

Hi Guys

Here's a update on Macs car .plus photos.

The static version is really moving on , finshed the interia cockpit , plus some figures that i had to really alter , to get them to fit and look like the puppets

I went to town on the dials etc that are on front of the dash area , looks great .

Front steering is finshed just waiting wheels just the rear little upright fins located on top of the rotate section that lifts the rear wheel s from drive to flying mode , and some detail underside then prep work for painting ..

The working version , just started the steering

Hi Guys

Updated photos of macs car , more to follow as these were taken in the week ,

Propland tryed emailing you , didnt hear back .

The final colour had to be mixed , i couldnt find a colour green i liked shop brought .

After all the colours and paint work are on ,ill cut back with t cut , and then any little bits that need touching up i can remask of then before polishing etc .

still dont know if to weather the model , Macs car seems to be clean in all the episodes .

Hi Guys

Finished, one down one more to go , well when all the working parts are built .

Finished the static version today , all painted , with detail markings etc , all i have left is just to connect up the working head lights and that .s it .

I have taken some photos , and i decided to give Mac car a slight weather'd look

A couple of photos with the studio scale Shado mobile , so you can see how big Macs car is next to it

So with this version finshed its now back to the working version , this of course , will take some time as working parts are designed and built , so in the mean time, ill work back on the SPV .

Best
Pete

It's been a while , but here are the first photo's of the workings of the R/C
Macs car .

The model has got very dirty over the last couple of years since work began on the R/C in the work shop.

Both retract shafts pull up on telescopic legs , pulling the wheels up into the underside wheel arches .

The drive for the wheels motors fitted inside the wheel hubs , that in turn are fitted to the leg struts .

The whole project has a long way to go yet , but its getting there .

Colour matching was an issue for me too, Seaview. Part of the problem is that the car looks to be a different green in every pic you see due to lighting, film stock and other contributing factors. I ended up getting a special mix too although even that took a couple of tries before I was happy. Congrats on picking this up and continuing a complex build and thanks for sharing your progress here.
