Missing Photobucket fix

I just thought I'd pass this on.

It seems Photobucket greedily decided to impose extra charges on it's users to allow them to embed offsite which has resulted in many dead image links on EagleTransporter.

It seems there is a workaround for this. By running the add-ons, it bypasses their checks, so they are restored. :D

Mozilla/Firefox:

Google Chrome:
https://github.com/Ryan-Myers/photobucket-embed-fix?hotlinkfix=1516572291164

Not sure about Internet Explorer, but I am sure there will be a port somewhere.

Enjoy!

Great find Tryptych,

Obviously we cant vouch for 3rd party add ons but I have tested the chrome store add on https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...-fix/naolkcpnnlofnnghnmfegnfnflicjjgj/related and can confirm it does currently work, it appear all the add ons do is change a refferal id in the link so should be safe, but users use at your own risk.

Also from the links provided I have found a potential forum wide solution, but I need to investigate whether this can be safely used

I have no knowledge of this stuff but if such things get around photobucket's conditions, does that not constitute a breach of contract between the user and photobucket? I don't agree with their charges (and have therefore deleted my account, so my images are gone) but even so I would not want to use their service without paying their fees, that wouldn't seem fair to me. I could, of course, be missing the point entirely!

No, because it basically uses my browser to circumvent their security.
(I don't have a contract with Photobucket)
Anybody can add this little script to their browser and it restores the images. Photobucket are none the wiser.

It's all perfectly legal.
