My Explosive Truck

Deceiving the eye....

The lighting in Photograph 4, whether by accident or design, makes it very difficult to judge the scale of the truck - if we'd never seen the intricate building process, that could be a life-size truck in its garage. It's a really really beautiful model M.

Kindest regards

Patrick

Thanks guys for your very kind comments you are very generous.
As promised here are the final finished photos of the Explosives Truck.
I know I always say this but this has been one of my favourite builds though this time I think it IS my favourite build. I've always liked this vehicle from one of my favourite Anderson episodes, it would be nice to have a convoy but one is enough for me.
One thing I must mention is the photos of the windows show how filthy they are just like in the episode, as I did not want an interior I slightly sanded the inside to make them a bit 'cloudy' and left all the dust on them.

I will be posting my next project shortly somewhere on this forum as its not a scratch build nor an Anderson theme. After building five models from scratch I decided to have a change and modify an existing toy for fun.

Patrick the photo number four in my last post was by chance, I'm not that artistic much as I would like to be, thanks.

Again I'd like to thank Paul Gray for moulding all those wheel half's for me, without his help this project would not have been possible, many thanks.

Many thanks to every one who has commented and looked in on this build.
all the best
Malcolm

Finishing line....

What a truck. No-nonsense, completely rugged, no frills. You've captured it perfectly. You graciously mention that nice Mr Gray and his top-quality wheels, and rightly so, but you still had to pull all the components together to get to the finishing line. Plus, it's got wheels that steer!!! It really couldn't get any better.

Pride of place, Malcolm, pride of place.

Kindest regards

Patrick

Hi everyone.
Again many thanks for your comments, I'm glad you liked it as I really love this vehicle.
After all these years I'm fulfilling an old ambition when I was a kid in the 60's of wishing I had these vehicles. As usual for me it has taken a few years but I finally have one.
all the best

Hi Vostulabase
Nice photos especially the first one. I always wondered if the puppet size wheels were carved from polystyrene as they have that look about them?

Dear Badsimmonds 90,

Glad you liked the initial ETDC Forum offerings of mine. Your finished vehicle looks so KONAMI ian....like the one I have from Japan. Plus numerous 2 1/4s of the Template Vehicle from the episode to begin with

Funny thing is I was thinking of building this version of the truck before I started but because I already had a number of models the same/similiar colour I decided to build the Explosives version.
Now if only I had another 12 wheels!
