Well what do you know? Red Dwarf still rocks... :D

I had a few laugh out loud moments, Danny looks exactly the same, the SFX shots are class work, nice one Bill and everyone else involved.

Timer set for the next one..

Hi!
The Modelmaking Crew were Bill Pearson, Steve Howarth, and Neil Ellis.
Glad you liked it!
Cheers, Bill.

Please has anyone got anymore shots of the S.S. Trojan? I'm desperate to do a build of it and I've only got those few brief glimpses from the episode!s_s__trojan_reference_pic.jpg
I think it's a magnificent spaceship, but my only gripes are a) how poorly illuminated it was and b) how little we saw of her! Surely there must be concept sketches or photos of the build out there. Also, there's something about the hull and the engines that looks really really familiar...are the engines made from binoculours or something? Can't quite put my finger on it...:think:Can anyone help?

Hi Calamity Si!
Glad you liked the Trojan.Steve Howarth designed and built (with a little - very little -help from me) He's on this site. So contact him. You'll be surprised what he found at a few car boot sales - and turned upside down!
Cheers, Bill.

You got to work on it? I'm soooo jealous! LOL! I've tried emailing Steve and checked out his website at modelminiatures.co.uk. (Now I sound like a stalker...great :-/ )Unfortunately the email bounced back and the website looks as though it hasn't been updated in a while. Am I on the right one?

So he cruises car boots eh...? I'm thinking the Trojan may have been a dustbuster in a past life?

Watched the last episode of series X last night. Wow, that was excellent. Laugh out loud comedy - loved the simulants scenes and the way they almost gave you an explanation for the end of series 8, twice. Great FX, great models, and the Blue Midget set was really cool... and lit in blue.

Wonder why they didn't use Starbug though. Was the model or cockpit set long gone?

They'd better commission series XI.

I agree, it was truly epic! Loved the special effects in this episode too. I think the reason Blue Midget was extensively used was becaused Starbug was damaged during the filming of 'Trojan'. There were several scenes that made me laugh out loud, Rimmer was absolutely brilliant - I think it even makes it into my top 10 fave RD episodes ever! BRING ON XI!!

P.S. I thought I'd include some of my favourite model pics that are currently on the web for you all to enjoy. I think these are just incredible...and if anyone disagrees, I challange them to a duel across time and space!

Excellent effects, terrific model designs - the sim ships were very interesting.

I am also very impressed with the model lighting and photography, pin sharp so you can appreciate the work that went into the model details with great dynamics and scale explosions worthy of a movie on a much grander budget.

Any behind the scenes images of the crew at work would be very welcome, work in progress images are the honey pot for a model making site like this...

More please. :D

Here's a nice shot of the Simulant Annihilator from the new RDX DVD release. It'll hopefully show loads of cool behind the scenes stuff...

Everything looked great...even reduced on Youtube. How fortunate to have what many of us would consider a dream job..building models and getting paid for it!!

Hi Tim!

That would be a nice world - to make models, and get paid for it! Unfortunately, on Dwarf, the money is rarely available! On series V111, I designed, and built ( in 3 days ) the Metal Eating Escape Pod - for a £10.99 bottle of wine! On series X, I donated 2 models for free - as there was no cash for them! Welcome to the real world!
Cheers, Bill.
