Finally finished an old CENTURY CASTINGS S:99 Commlock build, it was a gift 2 months back. I’ll put it’s build photography up but first it finished.
It’s lovely to have it just on the coffee table now. There’s no one perfect replica (even on screen on Blu-ray close inspection you see blank & missing parts to them) so I just made it as close as possible with opportunity to update & improve.

Hope you enjoy.

Here’s a collection of my build, in retrospect I wish I’d just sanded off the 1-9 buttons at the beginning as masking proved messy; hence I did that later with 1.5mm black plastic card.

Cheers, I added metal magnets for correct size buttons, the black disk was from a tiddlywinks game 😆.

The silver speaker grid was ironically a small Star Trek communicator cut to size... it’ll do till I find
1.0 mm Perforated Sheet Metal to buy.

I sanded off the polyurethane buttons to add my own black plastic-cards at a 1.5mm thickness for sharpness, wish I’d started that in the first place.
I used Tamiya masking tape for a guide to place the buttons otherwise it would end up like Commande Koenigs 😆
