SHADO 1 wip

Hi there,
here are some pictures of my studio scale SHADO 1.
I was lucky enough to get hold of a Tiger Joe tank for the wheels and tracks.
For the main body I built a balsa wood master then made a plaster mould into which I slush cast resin.
The chasis is built using perspex and the suspension was made to work using junior acksaw blades as springs.
I sourced as many of the kit parts as possible but a large number of the detailing parts are scratch built.
I used Halford car paints for the finish and all markings are hand painted with the panel lines applied with a drafting pen.

I need to add some final details, windscreen wipers etc, and some weathering.
I have built it to be radio controlled but I am considering taking the motors and R/C out and having just as a static model.

Thanks for looking:D

Wow! I may not share the expert eye for the Mobiles of some of our fellow Alphans here, but that looks like a mighty fine scratchbuild, Angelo - excellent!

That's nice work - but even more fun if it's radio controlled ! I'd leave the motors in !

Hi Angelo
Small world, Kempston Beds, must be neighbours.
Nice Mobile, by the way, I've been trying to finish my Studio Mobile for the last 4/5 years(one day).
And Welcome:W:

Its not perfect and the photos were meant to show off the lights.

(I used Halfords Nissan light blue paint for the body)

Hi every one, thank you for all your comments, greatly appreciated:))):
Big Rab, your mobile is awesome! most impressive:thumbup:
Frank UFO, you'll have to let me know where you are.
The model does have motors and R/C in it, it keeps throwing its tracks however as it motors along and I can't seem to sort it out, which is why I am thinking of taking it all out:-/
Thanks again:D

Do you have the little half-cylindrical track-tensioners under the body, just above the second-to-rear wheels? I can't tell from the pics.

I do indeed, but the tracks still come off if I drive at anything more than a slow crawl:x
