Default Gunner Dalek

I've always steered clear of Reshape 'cause of the horror stories my friends have about their kits from them
But, Who's back on the box and i've always liked the Daleks - and this was cheap on eBay.
Oh dear... -
HUGE steps either side of the skirt, masses of excess resin on all horizontal areas, airholes, strange bubbly resin on a lot of the skirt balls, some rivets missing, the turret plate was smashed into three pieces and there was loads of flashing on the metal pieces:

So, construction wasn't as bad as i feared - mainly two hours worth with the Dremel and resin dust everywhere.
What persuaded me to get my first Reshape was, if i couldn't clean it up totally, this version is so filthy dirty i could disguis it with grime.
It actually is a very accurate version with the added bonus of being in scale with the Comet one (1/8th).
However, one thing is just plain wrong. The gun is cockeyed. Not a sympton of bad casting - just wrong.
Its only apparent from side on:

Still, i could live with it.
Once assembled it was primed in white and looked pretty good.
The turret i think sticks out too far. This is because i chose not to have it movable (which would have meant making a counterbalance on the other side. The instructions tell you to do this but don't give you anything to do it with or suggest what to use! Cheers chaps).
Instead i just glued it to a new plate i glued into the recess.

I've moved on now - basecoated in Ford Ivory (which was too shiny and feared it'd make the washes bead up on the surface so i've bunged some matt varnish on) and picked out the gold details.
Gonna be great tomorrow dirtying him down!
