Thanks. I have made and fitted the footpads, again using balsa, plasticard and milliput.

I have added treads to the footpads (don't want it slipping when invading in icy weather). Also put in more detail in the form of antennae and heat ray.

Thank you (would like to see the kit by the way, I didn't know it existed). Managed to sneak out between showers and get primer on it.

Thank you very much. I have been working on the eyes. I carved the shape in balsa and then heat formed a piece of clear plastic over it. I then pushed wire mesh underneath it and gave it a couple of coats of clear green paint. I could not get it to be a perfect fit, so I have put in more milliput and will paint that up when it has set. It does look to give the right effect anyway.

That's a fantastic piece of work. I especially like your building techniques, using balsa and milliput, so simple, yet producing first class results.

Default From simple things....

....such terrifying beauty is born. Fantastic work Kevin - and it's not simple at all, using what you have available as opposed to what you'd like to use. It's a lesson to many of us, watching what you do - the starting blocks (literally) of balsa, then the milliput over the top, and so on and so on.

Thanks for posting all these pictures - keep them coming.

Kindest regards,

Patrick

That third image, the Martian towering over the houses, "does it" for me! Could be from a film.

Thanks very much folks. That image of it over the houses is the model standing on my model railway layout! (we would like to apologize to passengers for the delay, this is caused by unforseen circumstances).
