Default Any pics of the new Fab 1?

We've seen all the new Thunderbirds but still not Fab 1 - which is surprising. Anyone seen any?

Are these just renders or real models? Thunderbird three looks a bit 'captain Zepish'! Which I quite like, but overall they look dire!!!!!!

Tb2 and 3 look dreadful! The large warning sign at the TB2 nozzles instantly reduces the scale of the thing.

Lego versions is a good way to describe TB-2 & TB-3- of the group TB-1 & TB-4 are fairly good, but the others miss the elements which made the originals work so well.
Hard to tell much about TB-5, the top view makes it look like a uniform badge.

Sometimes a ship has bad angles and good angles- the Enterprise D looked horrible in some views. I am really hoping this is the case for these reimagined craft- yes some are real blocky but maybe from a dramatic 3/4 view they work...

Although I love the original Thunderbirds series to bits the more I see of the upgrades the more I'm dreading it.
I agree that the warning decals on TB2 reduced the size of it to about 50', why can't they leave things alone.
Of all the upgrades I think TB4 is perhaps the best but I still prefer the originals.

Bearing all this in mind, can't wait to see what they have done with FAB 1
Couldn't be any worse than the movie version-COULD IT?

The movie version was based on the wrong car- hard to work around that. I did like some of the action features (although the huge flight engine could have been smaller).
The modern Rolls has some very nice modern shapes which could be used to extrapolate the six wheeled/glsss dome edition, I just hope they do not go all Lego on it as well...

Default Car Wash??

Agree with all - FAB 1 was quite the bone of contention, last time around...

They have simply GOT to get her right, this time (and, she had better be a Rolls!)

Thanks to hwels for posting those but maybe Weta haven't released the best photos there. The ships look a bit flat and hand painted butTB4 looks great to me and that's a really nice updating - plus TB3's grown on me.

I was never a big fan of TB5 in the original series anyway so I'm indifferent about that [ looks ok though ] but TB2 does look a bit square at the back and possibly a bit long but again maybe better pictures will make it look better.

TB1 and TB4 aside - anyone else thing 2,3 and 5 look a bit like something from the TTA books with the colour detailing?

I was trying to upload animated gifs with the new TB1-5, but this website doesn't allow that. Pity, as they look very nice...

So here is a link to the gifs, just scroll down a bit..

Default Spanning The Globe...

I'd be happy to see a still (or two?) of TB5 that shows her off to better effect. Any possibilities?

I've got them working ok. Even though I'll probably never like them as much as the originals I must admit - they do seem to be growing on me.

TB1 & 4 are the most sympathetic updates - TB3 is a bit blocky and TB2 is growing on me - does it look like the wings swing up- maybe no tilting palm trees this launch sequence?

Swing up wings perhaps needed in TB2 hangar? Would solve the problem in the old series that TB2 could not lower down over the selected pod because the pods were too close on the conveyor belt.
