Default 'Get Smart' movie trailer

I'm normally very suspicious of big screen adaptations of classic TV, but this looks like it might be alright:

I'm giggling as I remember the bit with the telephone, which is promising.

Oh, dear. I suspect this will be one I pass by.

Tho' I did chuckle, just a very little, when all the beads came off the 'curtain'.

Ok, they'll have to be very careful they don't step on Don Adams... they could sooooo easily make a mess, and it was such a fun series... but a good choice of actors so we shall see. I don't know why the Rock would play agent 23?

Oh, I loved the series, and the trailer looks somehow promising. I have to watch it. So I guess Maxwell Smart was not your cup of tea, cricket?

Oh, I probably saw every episode at least five or six times (including the one with Barbara Bain) by the time I was 10, but no, I can't say I'd make much of an effort to go now.

Sorry, I can't keep the titles straight, but she played a KAOS agent (I think) with an atrocious accent (that I remember!). So many of those silly episodes were carbon copies of each other.

As for this new film, I don't know... I'm at a point where I could some 'dumb funny' laughs, and this looks like it'll fit the bill. (Those beads were funny. Especially the last strand that hung on for a few moments. Oh, and the "Surprise!" with the thrown phone? That would be something I would try, with the same results.)

Sadly yes. I think there was a second too. They tended to be b grade Disney type things with Don Adams trying to reprise the role. They just weren't funny because they really didn't have the series thing going.

"Get Smart" was really the "Batman" of the spy world...or the Hogan's Heros of the prison camp world. They all worked because the humour worked. This movie will only work if it captures the humour without parodying it

Oh my goodness she was so young. One can well imagine her lighting up the Mission Impossible screen.

Good job, JD!

The dialogue about who/whom was pure 'Get Smart'.

I'm not sure I would have realized that was BB if I hadn't known going in!

Here's a rather nice publicity still showing BB in 'Mission: Impossible'. Can't remember where I nicked it from.
