Default Doctor Who Easter Special

The trailer has been posted on the BBC website for the Easter Doctor Who special, and has also been running on the BBC too. Whilst it doesn't give much away, I couldn't help but think of Pitch Black. The swarm of flying beasties looks too familiar!!!

Apparently the 200 on the front of the bus is a nod to it being the 200th Dr Who story (give or take).

The Doctor Who Easter special also features the wonderful Michelle Ryan (Bionic Woman).

Russell T davies was interviewed on BBC Breakfast this morning. He said that the 'companion' in the two part Christmas Special will be played by Bernard Cribbins. He didn't say if this would be a new character, but it would seem obvious for him to reprise his role as Donna Noble's Grandfather........

Hmmmm, very Pitchblack like. Interestingly in a Sunday Times interview with Mr T and Mr D comment on the fact that a lot of British writers have gone over to stay with Mr Lucas to help with the New Starwars Tv series. I hope they come up with something a bit more original than this is looking

Well, that they do. Thanks. Resolution is typically that of YouTube~ poor, but it does give a hint. We won't get this for ages, but it's something to look forward to.

rather like the Red Dwarf special, this strikes me as rather 'ho hum'. I don't know if it is actually the program, as I am a fan of all of Vin Deisel's "Riddick" roles - including the upcoming PS3 game, or the come-back from what seemed to me to be such a lack-lustre last season. I gave up on Torchwood in it's second season, was distinctly disappointed with the Master in 'New Who', and it is only the fact that RTD is handing over the reins to Stephen Moffat that is getting me hopefull for next year - and even that has been dimished since hearing about the new doctor, who looks like he still needs to shave for the first time!

Wasn't a London bus dropping into the desert just recently done in the Jumper film. Hardly original.

Havin ex -enders Michelle Ryan will lead to dramatic suspense, because with every scene of danger you will hear "Du-Du....... Du-der Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuu"

I think she would make a great Dr Who assistant long-term and she can run (lots of practice as Bionic Woman) so can easily keep up with the Doctor.

Well, if she calls herself Emily and starts saying "I am a lay-dee and I like to do lay-dee's things" then David Tennant has one big F*******g problem on his own!

I know next to nothing about Ms Ryan's work - apart from that awful, unfunny parody version of 'Bionic Woman' - so I'll be very interested to see how she fares. I will, of course, wait until the ABC broadcasts 'Planet of the Dead'....

Cribbins' return is, of course, unequivocally good news. I hope 'Wilf' finally gets a trip in the blue box. Any chance of seeing my beloved Ms Tate, I wonder?

I sincerely hope NOT - she always struck me as a bossy, mother-like character, entirely out of character with the 'fit babe' criteria for a Doctor Who companion.
